In Windows, I used to use a program that would read text to me, but I'd usually have to copy all the text into a window and then hit a button that would make it speak to me. Once I got a Mac OS, I wondered where I could find this feature. Although I love reading, my eyes are just not able to focus on text for too long, so I was looking for some kind of program to read to me - that is, have it read Ebooks (pdf) to me. So I have the computer read to me. Might be a little lazy, but it sure do

I currently use Safari for most browsing on OS X just because of stability. Firefox was able to decipher more sites correctly, but would frequently lock up (under 10.4.3), spike my processor, flood my bandwidth, and need a Force Quit. From posts in various forums at the time, this was not unusual and due to a networking bug. Question is, with new versions of OS X (10.4.5) and Firefox, is it stable? Are other people still experiencing this problem?

Just saw this from MacDailyNews that the OSX x86 version is leaking to the Internet, and I just found another picture from another forum Any Pro can tell if it's a original pic or a photoshop made pic. I was thinking that if it's true, will the x86 version bring all advantage of osx to a pc? Like stability, much less virus?

Okay, here is the beta version of my widget. If someone would like to help me out by downloading and testing it, that would be great! It probably won't be too useful for you unless you frequent my forums, but if you could test it out for e anyway, I could really use it. I don't have Tiger yet so I've looked at it in Safari, but I can't preview it in Dashboard myself.

When the major OS' were first being created the reason that people liked macs is because of their ease of use. You didn't have to memorize all sorts of code just to open a document, they had an interactive interface from the start. Now that everything is so simple a hamster could run it, the Apple company has gone the other way. They still have the simple interface for those that don't require something more customizable, but thanks to a little program called Applescript you can us

For those of you who don't know, Panther, Apple's newest OS (Mac OS 10.4) is coming soon. What Is Your Favorite Ilife App?
We just got iLife '05 and it reminds me how much I LOVE iLife. Which one is your favorite? I'm thinking GarageBand. Making movies with iMovie and iDVD is fun, but I don't have movie to edit very often. iPhoto is nice and iTunes is awesome, but you can get it without iLife. So Thinking GarageBand is my choice. I want to make some tunes.

Okay, here's the gig.. I have an iMac DV (G3 400MHz) sitting on my desk, currently unused. I want to install Mac OS X, due to support for Mac OS "Classic" being cut off (I liked classic...), So I've decided to make the move to OS X, but...I don't want to use Aqua....I want to use X, and WindowMaker as my window manager. But...Since I'd be running X and WindowMaker instead of Aqua....Would OS X-native programs that would normallly run in Aqua be able to run in X, withou
